all the towns are cute and in my memory all run together. It is the only area where I cannot identify the towns in my photos.

You should have no trouble - I survived on my own speaking almost no French - sometimes resorting to my also poor German to make myself known.

The roads are well marked with Route du Vin signs.

I spent 12 days in Alsace last October and loved it. I saw very few Americans, mostly German tourists, and French. But that was fine with me, and I was treated quite nicely by everyone. I only wished there were fewer tourists period, so I could have the villages and Route des Vins more to myself! I hadn't expected to, but really liked the Alsacian cuisine.

We did a trip to France a couple of years ago and we included the Alsace region, I will recomend this region as there are many cute towns to see and stay, the food was increddible and the people very nice and friendly. Before the trip check www.alsace-tourism.com
lots of useful information, they can send you maps and brochures.
