Alsace region sparkling wine

I had an interesting sparkling wine at Maison du Tanner in Strasbourg, France last week. The maitre'd said it was a specialty from Alsace region. I think it's called "chaumont" or something like that. It's sweeter than regular sparkling wine. Anyone knows what it was I had??

Thanks.

Sure, it was a Cremant - OK but not the world's best sparkler and a bit overpriced c/w many great whites from Alsace.

It's the Crémant d'Alsace. Bonjour Paris has an article I wrote on it a few years ago if you want some basic information.
