I live 100 miles from the Boundary Waters Canoe area... don't like mosquitos, sleeping bags, and sleeping on the ground... we have family who visit to go there, I think I should buy them maps! I have walked across the Mississippi tho!

I work in Boston, and live in a suburb just west of Boston, however, in the 31 years I have lived here, I have never been to the top of the Prudential Tower, never been in the John Hancock Observatory (now can't get in because of 911), and I've never intentionally walked the Freedom Trail (but I have walked the whole thing in parts, and walk a segment of it each work day). But, I recall a newspaper article a number of years ago that said that the only people that walk the Freedom Trail from beginning to end are tourists. I also haven't been on the Duck Tour or Trolley Tour.

First half of my life in Texas and have never really been to Mexico. (I don't think the burro ride across the Rio Grande counts.) I've been in Oregon for the last 11 years and have never seen Crater Lake (except from an airplane).

Back in the '60's, we moved to Baltimore. Every Saturday morning we rose early and toured the city and environs, seeing all the important historical places, the museums, etc. I remember that the song, "Come Saturday Morning" was popular then. Now, every time I hear that song, I am hit with a wave of nostalgia when I hear the poignant lyrics "Come Saturday morning, I'm going away with my friend...just I and my friend...we'll travel for miles in our Saturday smiles. And then we'll move on, but we will remember, long after Saturday's gone."

David, <BR><BR>Since I am also in London I am stealing your list:<BR><BR>I have never...<BR><BR>Been to the Globe theatre<BR>Been to tea at the Ritz<BR>Been to the ceremony of the Keys<BR>Seen the mousetrap<BR>Been on a tour bus<BR>Seen the Thames Barrier open/close<BR>Been to Highgate cemetary<BR>Been to the National Portrait Gallery<BR>Been to the Ballet or Opera voluntarily<BR><BR>Madame Tussauds - I went often as a kid, under duress, to show visiting relatives around. I understand that now you aren't even free to wander around, that you are lead through on a set route at a set pace. Uuugh. <BR><BR>I do go to the theatre, but not often, probably about once every 2 or 3 months. I prefer plays and musicals to opera and ballet.<BR><BR>I haven't done tea at the Ritz but I do enjoy eating out in many restaurants in London, sometimes on their pre theatre menus only!<BR><BR>I also have never:<BR><BR>Been on a river cruise on the Thames<BR>Been inside in the Houses of Parliament (to be rectified in October)<BR>Been to the London Aquarium<BR>Been to Tate Modern (I almost got there and then got ill and had to go home - need to reschedule)<BR>Been to Vinopolis (but I don't drink wine - my husband and my sister went though and enjoyed it).<BR><BR>Lots more I haven't done that many visitors to my home city have done...<BR><BR>Kavey

There's some terrible rubbish in there too.<BR><BR>A company I worked for had it's launch party at Vinopolis, and I rather enthusiatically sampled the wares, so I'm not sure if i COULD go back!<BR> <BR>Negatives on the river cruise and Aquarium too.<BR><BR> <BR><BR>

Kavey: I'm a consultant to the public sector on Community Care issues, currently working on a response to the Shipman Report (very depressing). <BR><BR>Hence the trips to Parliament. (I have friends who work there too). Cheap bars and restaurants, with no closing time!

Hmmm, this is very interesting, David.<BR><BR>I think I've been to most of the tourist places here in Cincinnati, so I think I'm lacking in places a little further afield, those places that are within a few hours drive. Besides living in Cincy, I grew up in Kentucky which is where most of my list will be.<BR><BR>I have never been to:<BR>Bengals Football Game - Cincinnati, OH<BR>Riverfront Stadium (concert) - Cinci, OH<BR>Rock & Roll Hall of Fame - Cleveland, OH<BR>Indianapolis 500 - Indianapolis, IN<BR>Mammoth Caves - KY<BR>My Old Kentucky Home - Bardstown, KY<BR>UK Wildcats Game - Lexington, KY<BR>Churchill Downs - Louisville, KY<BR>Mary Todd Lincoln House, Lexington, KY<BR>Kentucky Horse Park - Lexington, KY<BR>Headley-Whitney Museum - Lexington, KY<BR>Hunt-Morgan House - Lexington, KY<BR>J. Peterman Company - Lexington, KY<BR>Keeneland Racecourse - Lexington, KY<BR>Lexington Cemetary - Lexington, KY<BR>

Hi David, If you're single and want some company to tour around your hometown, I'll be there solo next month on business. If 1961 has anything to do with your birthyear, it looks like we're close in age.

Lori,<BR><BR>Yes I'm single and 1961 isn't my birth year (1964 is). 1961 is the year that my football team - spurs - won the league. Unfortunately it is unlikely that I wil have to change my hotmail address anytime soon :0(<BR><BR>Feel free to contact me at the above address if you're coming to the big smoke.<BR><BR>David<BR><BR>
