Don't have to decide now - but I tend to like to have everything pre-planned well in advance, down to the minute details. Hubby hates wandering around trying to figure out what do/where to eat next. He likes me presenting him with plans or a list of 2-3 options with full details (and yes - I actually like doing all that).

Glad to hear Appenzell gets so much love.

WeisserTee: THANK YOU so much for pointing me to the discount page. I will definitely keep an eye on those and might change plans on the fly if it works out. Some good deals there!

PalenQ: So grateful for your mentioning a Swiss Pass deal. I've been hunting through the raileurope (and other) sites and cannot find the deal you mentioned.

If you ever have any questions on a Swiss Pass and wish to speak to an expert agent call Byron at www.budgeteuropetravel.com - I have bought various passes from him for years - will answer any question even if not buying IME - to confirm the sale is still around as I had copied this a bit ago.

I'm just in the planning stages for a trip in the fall and the Swiss Pass also offers a free Family Card. It allows children under 16 to travel free with their parents.
