Alone in Paris

I am brazilian, 55 years old and i will spend one week in Paris by the end of this month. Eventhough I have been many times in Paris thas will be the first time i will be alone in this city. My hotel is the "Hotel du College de France (5 emme arrondissement). Do you think it wont be a problem for going out for diner alone in the neighborhood ?
Thanks a lot

No, it won't. Have been doing that for many years.

No problem. Husband and I went a few times together and then I've been by myself. Actually it was delightful.

You won't have any problems - enjoy yourself!

Absolutely no problem. I did it for years. Have a wonderful visit.

Ditto on the no problem being a single female dining alone in Paris in the 4th, 5th, 6th or 7th n my experience.

I found out quickly that eating dinner alone is not any kind of social stigma. I may bring along a guidebook or journal to spend th etime, but restos do not frown upon single diners.

Walk right out the front door of your hotel and dine at Pre Verre across the street.

I have stayed at the Hotel College de France; the staff is lovely.

Another good restaurant nearby is Le Relais de Comptoir.

Good places to have lunch where you will not feel self-conscious at all: the cafe at the Jacquemart-Andre Musee and the restaurant at the Orsay.

You could also dine at the counter in the Food Halls at Galleries Lafayette.

Have a glass of Veuve Clicquot and toss caution to the wind!

Tschuss,
Pepper

Mo problem. I am a senior woman who has been traveling the world alone, first on many business trips and for the last 6 years since my DH passed away on many vacations alone.
My vacation trips have been great. I go to Paris every spring for 3 weeks and never feel alone or unsafe.
I go to lovely resturants, the opera , concerts and the ballet alone.
Go and have a great time.

tdk320n:It s nice to know that you go to Paris every spring for 3 weeks. Actually, spring is the best time to go...

<<What if it blew back in your face?>>

It would be snout to snout, I guess. Or a ham sandwich à envoyer.

Good to see you, Pepper:)
