All set for Paris in October!
 

I have completed my plans for Paris in October.

I have my FF tickets and I have rented a ParisPerfect apartment. I was going to wait until I returned from my February trip to Paris, but decided it best not to wait.

I guess some big rugby games will be going on at that time..12th to 21st, I believe. I may learn something about rugby!!

If I may ask, which Paris Perfect apartment are you staying in? My group and I (7 of us) split up between the Sancerre and the Champagne. We absolutely LOVED them. The PP staff truly knows how to work with people! I hope you have a Nepresso machine in your unit -- Heaven in a cup!

Rue St. Dominique, rue de Grenelle, and all the other streets around the neighborhood are wonderful. The Saxe-Breteuil market on Saturday morning was great fun!

It is just for me, so I did not need a large one. I have the Grenache. Really attractive.

I am quite familiar with the whole area.

The FF tickets go quickly. Now that Delta has the two different classes, "Choice" and "Saver", or whatever it is called, you need to get them early.

I will be in Paris in early February and do some checking out of some areas.

That's great -- I always thought those apts were way too expensive for me but it really isn't too bad for the smaller ones like that if you go in winter. Of course, I prefer to go to Paris in what they call peak period, and their rates double during that time, which is quite a markup. The October rates being in-between the two are more than I've ever spent on a hotel/apt in Paris, but aren't too bad. Those Spring-Summer rates are kind of ridiculous, though (to me, I know some folks don't mind them).

I find Parisperfect's pricing to be quite odd. How can winter (I consider mid-December winter...) be considered high season and cost the same as going in March, April, May, June?

People on this board do seem to really like this agency so it seems like many are willing to pay for the security of the agency and their services. But a 10 am check-out time sounds unreasonably early...

Glad you were able to grab their low season rate and have a wonderful trip!

My adult daughters, a few of my friends and I wanted to go to Paris in the fall. In looking at apartments for 6-7 of us, ParisPerfect's Gigondas (5 bedrooms) seemed ideal. By moving our trip back 2 weeks, the price went down by half to 3283 Euros, less than $750/person and only two people need to share a room. We are happy!

It all depends what time of the year you like to travel. Or when you are able to travel.

I never travel in the summer.

Re the high rates for mid Dec-early Jan. That is pretty much what hotels do here, there and everyplace. Many people travel over the Christmas holidays. It is a peak time of the year.

Spring and Fall are great times. May has the problem with so many holidays. Oct. is always a busy month.

If you have a group going to share the cost, then some of the Paris Perfect larger places can be a bargain. They are all very well done, managed etc. Even their system for deposits is great..no wire transfers etc.They also have some concierge services available. I think they are probably the number one place in Paris..their London places are probably great, too...
I have no doubt about being pleased with my choice.

I hope it didn't sound like I was trying to second guess your choice -- it sounds like a completely ideal arrangement for you. I also think it's great you were able to score your FF award, so congratulations!
