Alilaguna to Rialto?
Leaving for Venice in two weeks.
The apt. is close to Mercato Rialto vaporetto stop. It seems easier to me to take Alilaguna to Rialto from MP and cross the bridge than take the bus and vaporetto. ( as suggested by the agency) We have only hand luggage. On a previous visit to Venice we arrived by train....so I am not sure about getting to town from the airport. We don't intend to take a water taxi. Thanks. |
The Alilaguna Arancia line might also be a good option for you since it goes to San Stae. The walk from the stop might be slightly longer (really depends on the location of the apartment), but would not require dragging luggage up and down the very high Rialto bridge. The choice of the two lines would depend on the schedule for the two routes and the time your flight arrives.
For me, I would probably take the land bus from the airport to Piazzale Roma and then the vaporetto to the closest stop to my accommodations. I've stayed right by San Stae a few times. Traveling with carry-on luggage only, from airport terminal to San Stae, my trip was less than an hour, including land bus and vaporetto. |
Thanks for the info...we are discussing the options.

I agree---the bus to Piazzale Roma---fast and cheap.
|
thanks...the cost bus+vaporetto is almost the same as Alilaguna .

If you plan to buy a vaporetto pass for your visit, your arrival ride might be included in the cost of your pass, so it might turn out cheaper to ride the land bus plus vaporetto. But, yes, at face value, the cost is about the same as Alilaguna.

Thanks, we don't plan on buying the pass.
Hope to walk as much as we possible without using the vaporetto. |
