Alhambra--Worth Seeing at Night?

We'll be arriving in Granada late afternoon on a Sat. and plan to see Alhambra the next day for sure, but am wondering if it's worth seeing at night as well?

It is indeed worth seeing at night, if only as an excuse for a super outdoor evening in Granada. Take a cab to St Nicholas Square which is in the Albaicin across the ravine from the Alhambra. Have a bit of wine, a few bacalao or other tapas and enjoy the sunset. Truly special.

When we were there we bought both the evening tour and day time tour at a bank a few days before we got to Granada. We were not sorry. At night there are fewer crowds and so you can linger longer, and the lights and shadows show you many things you miss in daylight. Be sure to read Washington Irvings account of walking around at night in the Alhambra.

Definitely! It's magical at night, and the crowds are far less bothersome. I second the recommendation to read Irving's Tales of the Alhambra first.

Thank you all--I'm going to make my reservations now! And yes, I have read Washington Irving's Tales of the Alhambra, but may read it again.

Another question--we're renting a car and staying at Gran Luna Hotel. Would we be better off parking at the hotel and either walking or taking a cab or bus to Alhambra or parking in the Alhambra lot?

Thanks so much for your help.
