Alhambra tickets. HELP. All attempts fail
I am trying to purchase tickets to the Alhambra for October. I have tried Alhambra-tickets and Servicaixa, but the page to order does not display. I even tried to email Servicaxa, to no avail. Any suggestions.? All will be appreciated.

I have arranged for tickets and a guided tour in October for myself through Valesa Cultural Services.

Perhaps there was a temporary glitch at the ServiCaixa site. I just tried it and it was working.

I live in a pretty little village called Guajar Alto between Granada and the coast.
When we have taken our visitors to the Alhambra we have not pre-booked. You can just turn up and buy a ticket. This gives you immediate access to the Generalife Gardens, the castle and grounds and will also give you a time slot for when you can enter the Palace. Usually 2 hours later. You may like to look at the following web sites www.guajar.com www.margaretmerry.com www.guajar.blogspot,com Margaret |
Thank you all for your helpful responses. We were able to book using a different computer. Neither of our 2 home conputers allowed the correct booking page to open. We are now in good shape and very excited about our upcoming trip.

hi, nans,
well done for your persistence. notwithstanding what Margaret has posted, IMO it is a good idea to purchase tickets in advance. when we went [in November] day-time tickets were all sold out. Fortunately we had already bought ours on line, under the old system. as most people only or at least primarily go to Granada to see the alhambra, if you went there and couldn't get in, it would be very frustrating. we did manage to get night-time tickets on the gate. if you need a hotel recommendation, we stayed at the guadalupe right opposite the alhambra and it was very pleasant and reasonable. have a great trip, regards, ann |
nans,
I have used that site before, with no problems. I dont know if this is the problem you are having now..but I too just had trouble buying tickets from European websites. I had to call my credit card company and setup my card for these purchases. This is something I didnt have to do just a few months ago. There are some new security requirements. |
ServiCaixa has upgraded the Alhambra site this month, and there have been a fair few glitches but the system appears to have settled down. The new booking page is better, and they now send a confirming email on request.
Remember if you buy with a non-Spanish credit or debit card, you can only retrieve the tickets from the glass-fronted building by the ticket office, from the afternoon and evening of the day before your visit. If you are in Granada a day early, there is much to be said for picking up tickets in advance, so that you can enter through the Puerta de la Justicia, 600 metres closer to the Nazarit Palace than the ticket office. |
I would definately reserve tickets to the Alhambra ahead of time. I've visited twice, the most recently in May. The mornings were already booked a month in advance so I reserved an afternoon admission. People were being turned away that afternoon if they did not have reserved tickets.
Margaret - advertising is not allowed on this forum. You've posted 3 times with the same links all promoting your products for sale. |
I bought tickets yesterday.
Try this--- www.alhambra-tickets.es (be sure to put the hyphen in it) go to the top of the page and put English as language. Anymore problems, let me know or go to www.maribelsguides.com and read her instructions on how to purchase tickets. |
Again, thanks for the input. We definitely had to reserve ahead of time, since we had only one morning opportunity to go. We'll try to pick up tickets the afternoon before.
Ann, I will check out the Guadalupe. Gracias |
