Alhambra reservations

What is the best way to make reservations for the Alhambra? Is it possible to do so from the U.S.? Our travel agent didn't even know that reservaions were necessary. Thanks.

Forgot! Also check the Hotel Continental in Barcelona, which has been recommended highly on the Forum. It has family rooms with fridge and microwave.
www.hotelcontinental.com

You can call the reservations office in Spain and pay with your credit card. You choose the time you want to go into the palace. You then have to go to a bank Bilbao anywhere in Spain and pick up the actual ticket any day before your scheduled visit or you can pick it up at the Alhambra on the day of your visit. The booking office at the Alhambra was a zoo the day we were there last August and we were very pleased that we had bought our tickets ahead of time. They only sell a certain number of tickets a day for the plalace and they do sell out. The no. is (34) 9022 24460

Go to//granadainfo.com/alhambra.htm and you can make reservations over the internet. Site was very easy.

This isn't what your question was addressed to, but thought you might be interested. When we went last year, we went twice--once during the day and then at night. Had to pay twice but it was worth it. The night visit was very different, but you get to see only a limited number of rooms. So if you're there on the days the night visits are allowed and don't mind spending the money, I'd recommend doing both.
