Alhambra in the evening?

Several different sources have mentioned a late night tour of the Alhambra and/or concerts in the Gardens.
Does anyone have any info about getting tickets for this late night tour or concert?
Also, is it possible to have either drinks on the patio or dinner at either the Parador or the Hotel America? Are reservations necessary for non-guests?

We will be arriving in Granada in the late afternoon and would like to maximize that evening's time. Our formal tour is scheduled for the following morning. Thanks for any suggestions and info.

There is a late night tour

Hi Marion. Yes, you can visit the Alhambra grounds in the evening from 8-10 p.m., but I believe the visit does not include the Generalife. I have not done this recently, but I assume that tickets can be purchased at the main entrance. As for drinks and dining, I had drinks and dinner at the Parador this June before a performance during the International Music and Dance festival. The Parador dining room does not take reservations, but we had no trouble securing a table after a fifteen minute wait, and an evening spent on the terrace there with the Alhambra grounds illuminated is a truly romantic, unforgettable experience! I have stayed at the Hostal America on the demi-pension plan with dinner included in the rate, but I believe that non-guests can dine there as well. The patio of the America is charming and the food also quite good, but because it has a very small dining room, reservations there would be essential. It does close for the season on November 8. Concerts and ballets take place in the Generalife gardens and in the palace of Carlos V during the June music festival, but there may be performances at other times of the year too. Check with your hotel.
Hope this is helpful.

Since we're going to Granada at the beginning of October, I've been reading about opening hours, etc. The current books say that after September, the only evening hours for the Alhambra are on Saturday night. The regular closing time is 6 during the "winter." Of course, books aren't always right...

Hi again, Marion. Just checked the Alhambra web site (www.moebius.es/il/granada/alhambl.html)
It appears that from April to September there are evening hours from 10-11:45 on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. From October through March, it is indeed only open in the evening on Saturdays, from 8-10. Tickets available at entrance.

We visited the Alhambra in August and I booked tickets per telephone from the USA and am very pleased we did as by 10am all tickets for the Palace were sold. You will need to pick up your actual ticket from Banco Bilbao Vizcaya, in any city, up until the day before or otherwise on the day at the Alhambra.
The number to call in Spain is < (34) 902 224 4
