indyhiker, thanks now I see that, I hadn't scrolled down far enough. The ticketmaster site wording is still showing a morning vs. afternoon difference.
Opening hours: Morning: from 8:30 am to 02.00 pm Afternoon: from April 01 to October14 from 02.00 pm to 08.00 pm from October15 to March 31 from 02.00 pm to 06.00 pm But if you try to buy a ticket then only the Nasrid Palace entry time matters, as you noted. So it has changed recently which is good to know! Thanks. |
We had a great private guide. [email protected]
This past September he charged 140 Euro for 3 hour tour. |
I have been reading this thread with great interest because we will be in Granada at the end of September. Without reading this thread, I am sure I would have been totally confused when buying my Alhambra tickets because I assumed the morning and afternoon schedule still existed.
So, to make sure I understand everything, it looks like we can enter the Alhambra grounds anytime between 8;30AM and 6:00PM. The ONLY timed ticket attraction is the Nasrid Palace. We can visit the Generalife gardens, the Alcazaba, and anything else we are interested in whenever we want, between 8:30AM and 6:00PM. If I choose a timed entry for the Nasrid Palace for 9;30AM, does this mean we can enter anytime between 9:30AM and 10:00AM? Do the tickets go on sale exactly 90 days before? We will be traveling somewhere else exactly 90 days before and may not be able to order them until we return home, probably a week after they go on sale. |
One more thing:
Several people have mentioned renting audio guides for the Nasrid Palace. I was under the impression from reading a blog several months ago that the Alhambra no longer offered the audio guides. I think they substituted the guides with an app, but people were having problems with the app. So, did they reinstate the audio guides? Thanks! |
The audio guides have been reinstated. They're smart phones with both and audio and visual guide. They're for the whole complex, not just the Palace. They cost 6 Euros each, but you also have to provide a credit card for a deposit.
As for your other questions, it is my understanding that you can enter any other area other than the Palace at any time. While I was just there two weeks ago, I was unaware of this change while we were there and did not test it. I'm not sure if it's strictly 90 days. You can play around on Ticketmaster to see what current time frame they've opened up for sale. I calendared 90 days out when we bought ours. Can you make the purchase while you're traveling? You just need a secure Internet connection. |
