Alexandre Paris...anyone had hair done there?

Hello I am new here. I am wondering if any you ladies have had your hair done at Alexandre de Paris in Paris France. I did a search but did not find anything. I was wondering because I am going to Paris in November and a Parisian friend recommended this to me. I know this place is famous. I want to treat myself to something special. I thought I might get another opinion on this board from other ladies who may have been there. Thanks for your input.

Once, many years ago, I visited this place and had my hair "done," also on the recommendation of a friend. For the next three days I could not sit at a café in Paris for more than 5 minutes without being propositioned by rich Arabs (there must have been something ethnic about the cut or the coloring, I swear). And when I arrived home, my husband walked right by me at the airport. Altogether not a great experience. To be fair, I didn't give a lot of directions to the hair stylist, just sort of put myself in his hands. He obviously thought I looked like a woman who needed a sheik.

Oh St.Cirq how funny. Well my friend suggested it and he is married to a lady who is quite fashionable. They are what the french would call BCBG and live in the 16th. I am conservative but by no means wealthy..I just want to splurge. I had asked them about going somewhere like Jacques Dessange and they poo-pooed...
that idea. I am scared I will be intimidated at this place. I certainly don't want to be propositioned by anyone. St.Cirq do you travel a lot to France? Maybe you have a better idea of somewhere where I might feel more comfortable getting my hair done.
Thank you for taking the time to reply.

PS...someone told me about the BCBG part.....I thought they were talking about the store named BCBG...shows you how much I know..but I am learning slowly!

BCBG are more concervative, the equivelent of the "Sloane Rangers.
Alexandre was most famous for doing Liz Taylor's hair", So picture her in those fancy styles years ago.

Thanks Cigalechanta...cute name...well if it is good enough for Liz Taylor...maybe I should try it out as an adventurous thing to do...I just dont want to end up with a bouffant!

Yes, Anna, I travel a lot to France as I have a home there, but I must tell you I have never again had the nerve to have a haircut in a fancy salon in Paris. I've had haircuts in our village in the Dordogne, but that's another story.......

Anna, Alexandre back then "was over the top"in those days when he did Liz's hair in Cleopatra, Ash Wednesday and Mirror Cracked.
BCBG is a clothing, shoes, etc line named after bcbg=Bon chic, bon genre,
meaning classic and fashionable.
I've heard good things about Dessage.
