Albergo del Senato

Has anyone stayed in the Albergo del Senato in Rome? I'd appreciate any comments.
Thanks.

Thumbs way up. I have posted my favorable comments here many times before, as have others.

Easy to find - - search "Senato".

Best wishes,

Rex
Ditto to what Rex said.
but, in case you do not know about search.
Type in key words into the Text Search box, at top of this page
(senato / del senato, even things like
roman hotels)
Then be prepared to wait, while it slowly pulls up all past postings that mention the del Senato,( and even some that don't!)
We loved the hotel, marvelled over our view,
and appreciated the very helpful staff that helped me deal with an unwanted auto, that we drove into rome, and could not get rid of!
Enjoy your trip whenever it is!

Just back last night from Rome. I really enjoyed the Albergo del Senato. The location is great for walking adventures. I was worried about the noise at night. We were in room 305. We could look right out onto the Piazza and the Pantheon. The thick windows in the room blocked out the Piazza noise very well (too well). Late at night we would leave the window open and listen to the water running in the fountain and the conversations down below. Good lift. Good breakfast. More like a 4 star hotel in service (Guissepe was great at the front desk). The air conditioning worked great too. Our room was 430,000 L per night ($215). You can probably get a little better rate by calling dirctly. The staff all speaks English very well. I recommend the Tuscan-style restaurant Il Bocca closeby. Great food and service and very reasonable. The vino de la casa rossi (red house wine) goes down like silk.

I think rm 206 is the one that is eye level with the inscription in the pantheon -- that room has a lovely balcony. i really enjoyed my stay at the senato and highly recommend (love those towel heaters!!)

Want to know certain room numbers that had balcony or great view to Pantheon. Can anyone remember a very nice room they had there? Thanks Karen

I can't remember our exact room number, but it was on the 6th floor and had a small balcony that overlooked the Pantheon and the piazza below. The stafff was very accomodating to our request for a room with a balcony/overlooking the Pantheon when we made the reservation.
