Alas. Paris in springtime is not to be for us.

I found an Air Canada sale that would take us to Paris from Victoria for $1056cdn if we returned on Easter Monday. Fares for September show $2600 for comparison.

For some reason returning that day is $500pp cheaper than any other day in April or May.

Anyway, my boss said no way, look for later in the year.

I need a better job. Any openings?

Poor kitty, so sorry!

That amount is a lot of money to save. You can get another job. You can only take memories with you when your time is up-go!

Why is your company not using a travel agency? You can certainly do better than that, even including agency fees, to say nothing of the time you will save from searching the internet yourself.

icthecat, how frustrating.

If I get to go to Europe this summer, though (from YVR), I am going to take Zoom or Thomas Cook charter flights. I priced flights to LGW at under $600 CAD including tax for departure in May and return in June. If I go in late June and return in July, I can find a fare for under $800 CAD including tax. (Fares found at www.canadianaffair.com and www.flyzoom.com) Combine that with a Ryanair or EasyJet flight for perhaps $50 Canadian, transport to/from the airport for another $50 Canadian, and it's worth the inconvenience for me.

Anyway, I don't know what is available for your possible dates, but perhaps consider taking a charter flight and taking a budget airline to Paris.

icithecat, don't give up yet. I just got an email from Destina.com with fares to Paris on Air Canada at the lower range for your dates from Vancouver. Try and see what you get.

I hope you are still going??

The fares for September may well come down to the level of the springtime fares. It is too early to buy for September.
