Aix - walking to Atelier Cezanne

It looks to be quite a distance from Cours Mirabeau to Atelier Cezanne. Is it possible to walk (and not take all day and be exhausted). Anyone know about how long this would take. I added that parenthesis because I know some of you would tease me about "is it possible to walk".

It's a LONG way. I can't remember how long we walked but, when we got there, it was closed! Be sure and check the times. The walk back was hot, hot, hot.
I'd take a cab and just enjoy being there, but then I'm over 60.

It isn't _that_ long, but it is almost all uphill through a very boring area with a lot of heavy traffic, and when you get there, as Nancy1652 says, it may not be open or, in our case, it appeared to be accessible but we couldn't find anyone to sell us a ticket, give directions to the studio, etc. So we walked around the grounds and used the toilettes and walked back down the hill.

Thank you Nancy. This helps a lot.

mimi:

It's not a "long" walk..but, yes, it is uphill. If I recall it took about 15 minutes. We had checked with Tourist Info right off Mirabeau as to opening times..it had snowed lightly the night before and the grounds and trees were dusted with snow...a most beatuiful sight (it was January '94, a bit nippy), but we were just there last spring and the weather was coolish but sunny...summers, I believe can be very hot as one of the posters mentioned.

However you decide to get to the atelier, do it...it's quite a lovely scene...and on a clear day you'll get that Cezzane window view of Mt. Sainte Victoire.

Thanks to all of you. I will check the times of opening. Probably will not walk.

Just take the bus - I forget which one - but it leaves from right in front of the Tourist Office and stops right in front of the Atelier.

If you ask at the Tourist Office, I am sure they can help.

Thanks Kevin. For some reason I never thought about the bus.
