Aix to Marseille Shuttle Bus
After a TGV train from Paris to Montpillier, I am renting a car for four days and then departing from the Marseille airport on an early morning flight.
I plan to stay in Aix the night beforehand. Which plan makes more sense and will be the most efficient? 1) Return the car at the Marseille airport before my flight? How involved is a rental car return here? Is it an easy airport to navigate? 2) Turn in the car upon arrival in Aix. Then take the shuttle bus from Aix to Marseille airport the next morning. I wouldn't have to deal with parking or driving in Aix.The schedule shows that these buses run every half hour and only take 30 minutes. Are they reliable and on-time? That is my big concern.Has anyone used this bus service? Any comments would be appreciated. Thanks. Margie |
The rental car return at Marseille airport is quite simple... follow the signs and once you drop off the car, it's a short walk across the road into the terminals.
I don't know anything about the shuttle from Aix, since I live in the Alpilles area and just drive to the airport, so can't advise you on that. Patricia |
Which plan makes more sense and will be the most efficient? I think Plan 3 which would make Aix the first stop or not at all. There is nothing around Aix but Aix and in Western Provence your cup overflows for the time. Of course this is presumptuous on my part, not knowing your plans.

Nothing around Aix, Bigal?
That's like saying there is nothing around Bath. But for the original poster, the busses are reliable, but if you already have the car, you might as well drive to the airport since the bus station in Aix is not hugely convenient. |
Thank you all for the responses. I think we will hold onto our car and turn it in at the Marseille airport.
