Aix Les Bains

Anybody been or planning to go? Was wondering if it might merit a night or two or if it should be done as a daytrip from Annecy? Focus would be on photography, easy hikes/walks, architecture, ..... the lake looks interesting as well as the thermal baths, and the museum with Rodin sculptures and impressionist paintings.

My brother in law lives in Aix. I think it is worth a visit. Since I am a cook I especially liked their market to shop for regional cheeses:

I very much like Aix-les-Bains and would spend at least a night there. The Lac du Bourget is more impressive than the Lac d'Annecy.

Aix-les-Bains may be a good base for day trips to Chmambery, Grenoble, Lyon, Annecy and Geneva.
As to the lakes, I prefer lake Geneva (and it's historic paddle steamboats) by far

Oh well, in that case, I would stay in Evian.
