Aix En Provence /what to do?
My friend told me that I must go to Aix en Provence when I go to Nice, this Oct. since I am a Thai cooking teacher I must go there(according to her).
How to get there?(from Nice). Do I need to speak French?(I can't) What to do, see, cook? There? Thank you. |
There is a train from Nice to Aix. YOu will have to change at either Marseille or the Aix TGV station, though, to get to the center of Aix. It takes about 3-4 hours one-way.
YOu don't need to speak French there any more than in Nice, many people visit who do not. I don't know why she told you to go there so much in relation to Thai cooking. Nice's cuisine is more Italian-influenced, though, of course, than that of Aix. I've had some good meals in Aix, but they were Provencale cuisine, not Thai. |
Hi P,
Have you looked up Aix en Provence under "Destinations"? ((I)) |
Christina:
Since I have a cooking school and taught Thai cooking, I also invited others to teach Cuban,Japanese and also bakery. She thought that I should learn some simple French cookings and may be teach other students. Thanks for the info. |
You can just as easily learn about French cooking in Nice--no need to make the journey to Aix-en-Provence. Are you looking for a cooking school?

If the reason was to go to cooking school, that makes a big difference. I assumed it was because there were some great Thai restaurants there or something.
YOur question is really where is a good French cooking school in or near Nice, and do I need to know French for this school. Unfortunately, I don't know cooking schools in that area. |
