Airports in Milan
 

I will be flying back to the U.S. from Linate airport and not Malpensa. I have an early 7:30 a.m. flight and was wondering if I should stay at a hotel near the airport the night before. I am not sure how far the airport may be from Il Duomo, where I will be staying. Any help would be welcomed. thanks.

Hi RRT25, the Linate Airport is much closer to Milan then the Malpensa Airport is. The Linate Airport is just east of Milan, about 30 minutes by bus (which you can catch at the Central Train Station in Milan) or by taxi. I flew out of Linate on a 7:30am Lufthansa flight last year. It was an easy drive to the airport in the early morning from downtown. Absolutely no need to stay near the Linate.
