Airport Transportatin in Athens?

Hi,
My husband & I are leaving for Athens in a week. Haven't been there in many years. Do any recent travelers have advice on how to get from the airport into town? Appreciate any help you can give.

I'd start with the Athens Airport website

http://www.aia.gr/EN/default.asp

But knowing WHERE in Athens you are going would help narrow it down.

mitchb: we flew into Athens last October and took their metro/subway in. I guess it would depend on the amount of luggage you'll have and where your hotel is, but we found it fast, clean, and very inexpensive.

mitchb,

It cost us 28E from Athens Airport to our hotel in the center of town. The ride took about 30 minutes. We had a lot of luggage, so I thought it was well worth the money.

Just returned from Athens this week. We used the metro into the city once and the airport bus twice. Metro tickets were 10 euro for 2 person one way (can buy them at the machine and validate them before you board). Trip took about the same amount of time as the bus which is about 3 euros each way. Both were easy but the bus was a bit stuffy and hotter than the metro. Both had plenty of room for luggage. We had a bit of a walk to the hotel but only had rolling duffles so it wasn't a problem. Have fun.

Thanks for all your help. The airport website was of particular use. Think I'll email the hotel and ask them what comes close.
