airport transfer-=london, england

I wonder how hard it is to get from Heathrow Airport in England to the Baywater section of London. The travel agent charges $33.00 a person each way. Is this worth it or is it realitively easy to get to London from the airport?

The Heathrow Express runs between the airport and Paddington Station. The trip takes about 15 minutes and is £14 (about US$24) for a one-way ticket or £26 return (US$45). You save £1 each way if you prebook online. From Paddington it's only a short cab ride to Bayswater. Check their website at heathrowexpress.com.

There is luggage storage in each coach. If you can manage your luggage through the airport, it's the way to go. Just follow the signs from baggage claim.

You can also take the tube for £3.80. The trip takes about an hour. You'd take the Picadilly line out of the airport and transfer to the District Line at Acton Town, Hammersmith or Earl's Court.

Very easy - you have 3 good choices -- there are others but these are the best.

Heathrow Express train from LHR to Paddington Station. Paddington is walking distance from most of Bayswater if you have light luggage. £14 (about $25) per person - 15 minutes from LHR to Paddington. If you have too much luggage there would be a 3-5 minute cab ride on top of the train fare.

Tube - less than £5 per person but it will require a line change and take about an hour. But if you are staying near the Bayswater or Queensway tube stations it will be a shorter walk.

Car service - from about £30 to £40 (approx $50-$70) per car (not per person). This is door to door service so no walking involved.

Kind of sounds like the $33.00 is not that much for a direct transfer. Thanks for the input

You don't say what transport you are getting for $33 a person.
The price and the fact that it is per person and not per car makes me think it might be the Hotelink shared van shuttle serviec which travel agents like a lot because they receive a commission on this service when they book it.

If there is only one of you it can make sense, more tahn 2 of you and its cheaper to hire a private cab
