Airport Transfer from Edinburgh Center to Glasgow Airport
 

Hi all,

I have been away from the forum for quite awhile and am glad to be back. Hoping someone can help me with a taxi or private car from our hotel in the center of Edinburgh to the Glasgow Airport. I know there are public transportation options but we prefer a car (health reasons).

I want to make a good choice since I understand the route is not a good one (congested road etc.) and prices seem to vary drastically.

What time is your flight out of GLA? If it is before noon I would never EVER drive over from central Edinburgh the same morning. If it is an early/mid morning flight you will want to be in /near Glasgow the evening prior.

I would doubt many Fodorites have hired a driver for this route. But there are several airport taxi services like this one that connect the airports or hotels/locations near the airports for around £70 or £100+ depending on the size of car needed.

What you could do is take a cab or the airbus to EDI and then the airport taxi from EDI to GLA.

Thanks janisj! The airport taxi you suggested looks good and the price is considerably less than some I have looked at.

Our flight is at 2:00 p.m., but I am still concerned. Am thinking we should leave at 7:00 a.m. just to be on the safe side.

W/ a 2PM flight you'll be fine. No need to leave that early -- 9AM would be plenty.

You might want to contact them by phone and see if they could pick you up at your hotel for an extra charge. All the places they list on the pull down menu are on the west side of Edinburgh and/or near the airport. Maybe for a surcharge they could pick you up ???

When I tried their online reservation, I could enter the address of our hotel, so apparently they will come pick us up for 72 GBP. Haven't booked yet but it looks good. Thanks for your help!

Oh -- that is great -- I just saw the locations that were preloaded on the pull down (and didn't know where you are staying).

£72 seem very reasonable
