Airport shuttle Barajas to Madrid???
 

Can someone recommend a dependable airport shuttle service from Barajas to Madrid and back? I found some 5-6 year old threads but would like current information and recommendations. Thanks.

There is a bus that goes into Barajas, but I'm not aware of any regular shuttle service. You can check the information on the official airport website: http://www.aena-aeropuertos.es/csee/...s/en/Home.html

I'm not sure about an airport shuttle service, but the ALSA bus service in Spain is super reliable and might fulfill what you need. It seems like there is a bus from Barajas to Miramadrid. Might be worth a look.

Are you talking about a service like Aerocity shuttle? I used it twice from airport to my hotel in Madrid. It was fine, a little cheaper than a taxi, but we had to wait at least 15 mins for the driver. Shared with another passenger.

Do you need to take an airport shuttle? There is a frequent direct suburban train (Cercanias - line C1 - €1.30 one way) between Madrid Barajas Terminal 4 and Madrid Charmartin, with frequent departures all day, which takes 13mins. If you need to get to Madrid Atocha, it's around 8 minutes by high-speed train. Don't take the Metro - it can take up to 40 mins.

The reason you don't find this information online is because it was only last year that a decision was made that allowed high speed AVE trains to connect to Madrid airport.

I took Areocity a few years ago and if I have any choice it will be the LAST time. Overall a very bad experience.

The return wss the final blow. He was on time, but then got lost looking for the hotel where his other pick up was. To make up time he drove like a madman cutting people off while talking non stop on his cell phone. Then at the airport he got in a FIGHT with another driver that he had cutoff (still on cellphone) We opened the back, got out our own luggage and walked away. He then started chasing us screaming about "tip" I speak decent Spanish and told him where he could take "tip" :)

I know Spanish drivers are "fun". I had just spent two weeks driving with them. This guy was just unacceptably bad! I sent a complaint to the company, but no response. Understandable since they had a monopoly... why did they care?

We used the Airport Express Bus mentioned above last May, from Atocha to Barajas. It was easy, comfortable, and very inexpensive.

You can't go wrong w/yellow airport bus stops right in front of each termina land costs 2 eoros!

I know you are trying to be helpful but ..MIRAMADRID and ALSA?

The new airporter bus is great and has a couple stops before the train station and is reliable and cheap. Take a taxi from one of the stops if your hotel is not in walking distance.

The problem with some of these recommendations is that I have to be at the airport (from my hotel in Madrid) at 5 a.m. and most public transportation doesn't start that early in the morning. I was hoping to find a shuttle service using either a 7 passenger van or a private driver. I found several online but have no idea if any are reliable and trustworthy. Any other recommendations? Thanks.

You probably just need to bite the bullet and take a taxi. That is an ungodly hour. If you are only in Madrid one night I , personally would stay at a hotel near the airport with a shuttle, like Clemente Barajas, as long as their free shuttle started early enough.

I see we have someone new (first post) digging up a 4-year old post to promote his/her web page and services. Bad boy!

We took AeroCITY last month from terminal 1. Other than having to wait abou 15-20 minutes for the driver, we had no problem. Our return was early in the morning and we took a taxi from the hotel. The taxi was was only 5 euros more and was a flat rate (35 euro?)
