Airport Hotel FCO Rome
 

We are going to be meeting friends at airport in Rome and need an overnight stay since our flight gets in day before theirs. Courtyard Marriott didn't get very nice reviews, any suggestions. Many thanks

Some years ago I stayed 1 night at the Sheraton Roma very close to Fiumicino. They have a shuttle to and from the airport. The hotel was a typical Sheraton, and the room was fine. I was not impressed with the breakfast buffet though; either order from the menu or eat somewhere else would be my suggestion.

The Hilton Garden Inn is 5 minutes away with a shuttle and decent.

Are you renting a car after your friends arrive? If not, it's likely all of you would be heading into Rome if only to catch a train to somewhere else. If that's the case, I would have your friends meet you in the city rather than at an airport hotel.

If you must stay at the airport, look at the reviews for the Hiltons (I think there are two) about which I have heard generally good things.

After they get in next morning we are going to the Hertz, on the advice of you guys we are going to drive out of Rome instead of taking the train...We may pick up the car and then pick them up at area. Will have to look at airport layout. Hilton Gardens it is. Thanks
