Airport fees question

I've found a fare to Italy (BOS-FCO) in September for a good bit less than the mainstream sites are offering. The fare included taxes but not airport fees or fuel surcharges. Can anyone tell me if this is a viable way to buy a less expensive airline ticket, or is it a hassle with too many unknowns to make it worth the savings?

Do you mean that as you proceed towards making a booking these components of the price are not disclosed? How, then, can you pay? Do you pay an amount and allow the seller to come back later for more?

I wouldn't do that.

My impression is not that it's not disclosed, it's simply that the fees and fuel surcharge are not part of the transaction in anyway. In my research, I've found that you can pay about $45 in fees to depart an American airport (not too bad), but I haven't found anything on fuel surcharges, or if you pay a fee at the destination airport. I'm finding it all a little suspect as well, but was hoping someone could provide more info and/or good news. Thx.

Not sure it's kosher to say the site, but I'll give it a shot: flycheapabroad.com
