Airport Connection/Paris

Has anyone ever used the Aiport Connection advertised on the site www.France.com from Chas. DeGualle to the 6th or any other areas in Paris?

Yes...is there something you'd like to know specifically?

Wendy,

Is this a reasonable way to get from the airport to the 6th? Are they reliable and do they speak English? My husband doesn't want to take the train.

Thanks.

< BR>
With all the shuttles, most people happy but enough have had bad experiences such as the bus not showing up, coming very late, so that I always suggest a taxi. For more Paris information e-mail me- [email protected]
There are several ways to get into the 6th...which I do often.

You can either take a taxi for around ff350, take the RER train from the airport for around ff50 (It may have changed as I haven't taken the train a while) and then there are the airport shuttles around FF100 pp.

Airport Connection is one I use often, but one I warn first time users about.

Not that they aren't a good company, but these shuttles make stops/pickups at each terminal, picking up and dropping off passengers, around 7-8 per van, running about 15-20 minutes behind schedule most days. This is the reason for their lower costs than taxis.

Most people arrive and expect to be picked up and taken straight to the hotel...if that is what you need, and you do not have time to wait, then I'd suggest the taxi. However, if I'm staying at a hotel (b/c I sometimes rent my apt.) then my room won't be ready until after noon anyway, so am in no hurry.

So as far as Airport Connection is concerned they speak English, I make my reservation from here, when I land and I am at the luggage carousel, I call the toll free number they give me to tell them I've arrived, and then wait outside for around 10-15 minutes,(normally at door 8 in termianl 2 hall C from the states)and after two or three drop offs/pick ups, we drive into the city and drop off passengers at their hotels.

Since I use a hotel in the 6th, and it is the city center, I am usually last to be dropped off. The entire 'dance' takes about an hour and a half. You can call them direct, giving them your flight number and name...using a credit card now, or pay cash on arrival...01.44.18.336.02

Bon Voyage!

I have used the Airport Shuttle.
Take a look at this web site:
http://www.paris-anglo.com/clients/ashuttle.html

The receptionist who answers the phone speaks good English. The drivers do not in my experience. They can say a few sentences, but they were not fluent. I have used the service twice and both times I was the last one dropped off, so it took a while to get to my hotel. Last year we went to the the intersection of Boulevard Raspail and Boulevard Montparnasse by way of La Defence.
If you want prompt service, take a taxi.
I think the van is a good compromise between the expense of a taxi and the effort to navigate the RER and Metro while toting luggate.
While not as quick as a taxi, the shuttle got us to our hotel without having to heft our luggage on and off the Metro and navigate endless corridors and steps.
If there were 4 people going to the same destination, you would get higher priority treatment, probably.

Beginning of March we used the Airport Shuttle four times in a couple of weeks. They were very prompt--we had scheduled over the internet--the driver was excellent and the service was good. Marilyn
