Airline ticket price drops and I got vouchers!
After signing up with Kayak and following ticket prices for months, I gave up and two days ago I bought two tickets to Spain for the fall. Well, of course, the Kayak report today showed that the price per ticket had dropped by $219.70. I didn't get too upset but I called Delta & requested a refund. The lady I spoke to said they could not issue a refund, only a voucher for the price of the ticket. I thought I misunderstood, but she said she was e-mailing the voucher credit to me. Indeed, I got two vouchers good for $730.70 each! I can hardly believe it!

Had you reserved the tickets through delta's website or kayak or another third party? Are these voucher refunds given only for a certain limited time after purchase, or up until the day you fly?
Congratulations. |
I bought the tickets from Delta's website and the vouchers are good until 7-01-2011, on any Delta flight. Rereading your question, I don't know about the time limit for receiving vouchers after a price drop.

My flights for mid-September returning early October have dropped about $100 in the last week - but I'm still holding out for them to drop further. I hate to pay $1,105 when it was a remarkable $660 in April......

That's fantastic. UA used to give u a voucher for the difference in what u paid and current price. Unfortuantely they stopped doing that in thepast year or so. Nice to hear Delta still does it.

I am waiting and watching and waiting and watching. I get my Kayak message every day, but so far nothing that makes me jump. Seem to be going only higher and higher, by a few dollars a day. Must have nerves of steel and just wait them out. Wish me luck.
