Airline servce from Ireland to south of France--Marseilles, Nice

We are thinking of returning to Ireland next July for a week then spending two weeks in Provence. Are there any direct fligts from Shannon or Dublin to the south of France? Ryanair? etc.

Thanks!

Hello Anthony:
You can take Ryanair Dublin/Stansted and then Stanted/Nimes. No direct flight though.

Phil, Is Stansted in England? And did you have to change planes? Time of total trip?

Thanks as always,

Anthony

Stansted is Ryanair's hub, NE of London, about 45 min by train from London.
They have about 12 flights a day from Dublin to Stansted and two from there to Nimes at 7:20 AM and 7:05 PM.
You have to change planes and, as Ryanair is a point to point airline, they don not transfer luggage.
Of course the timetable may change by next year, and new airports added.
There is talk that some of the discount airlines are looking into Avignon for instance.

You can fly Aer Lingus to Nice via London. They'll transfer your bags and it would cut out the hassle of having to transfer with Ryanair. Air Lingus are also having another sale and often work out more reasonable than Ryanair.

I would avoid Aer Lingus if at all possible. Try British Midland (www.flybmi.com). British European is another (less attractive) option (www.flybe.com). Also check the regular suspects: BA, Virgin, etc. Try www.travelocity.com.

I would fly Aer Lingus before either Ryanair or British Midlands. Grab a sale fare on Aerlingus.com

Seems very simple, but no one so fart has mentioned the RyanAir website: www.ryanair.com

They provide all the information you could ever want on fares, routes, timetable etc.
