Dear Daphne

The usual form is to contact the hotels direct via fax or email and request their airline/travel industrial rate. It can vary from 5% - 50% and of course sometimes zilch!!!!!!!! The normal routine is for you to produce your ID number on arrival.

Also, on arrival, always smile sweetly and ask for an upgrade - it occasionally works!

The majority of reputable chains will offer discount - smaller privately owned hotels are less likely. However, you can get to stay in some fabulous hotel at great prices.

Have a fab time!
