"Airline" -- TV show on A&E

Anyone see this? The American version follows Southwest Airline employees and documents their dealings with crazy passengers.... there is also a British version that follows EasyJet employees.

The American one had me ROTFL.....

Yes - I recently "discovered" this show and it has become one of my new favorites. To borrow one of my mother's phrases, "It's a hoot!"

I also enjoy the shows. It makes me glad I am not an airline employee having to put up with these people. They have to have quite a bit of patience.

I just saw it last night! I am going to be extra kind to the airline staff this weekend. It is unbelievable what they have to put up with!

I can just imagine what some of those airline employees would think about the various airline comments made on this board, too.

In one of the previous British airline shows there was a great character working for a Russian airline (Possibly Aeroflot) out of Heathrow. He was a slightly overweight camp man in his 30's that spoke fluent Russian. He was brilliant to watch.

I got hooked on the British version of this show while staying in England last summer. There's another British series, Airport, that I hope gets picked up here as well--fascinating to me to see what goes on behind the scenes!

Siobhan, the character you spoke of made such an immpression on Airline that he now works as a presenter on TV travel shows.

Andrew I though so. He was actually brilliant with the customers and made a name for himself. I remember one where the people's baggage was checked but they were drinking in the bar and he was great handling it. It's bad enough getting the Irish out of the bar I think the Russians are even harder

I love Airline! It never ceases to amaze me how many people get upset at the airline because they don't read the rules and fine print on their tickets. I usually end up yelling at my TV!

My personal favorites: a woman who checked her life saving meds in her baggage and missed the plane; a woman who demanded that her mother-in-law be allowed to board with an oxygen tank because "we checked her out of the hospital against doctor's wishes so she could go to Las Vegas", and people who spend far too much time in the concourse bars, miss the boarding call and then get furious because the plane has left!

Wow, how strange that this post should come up. I just saw this show for the first time this past weekend. It was the British version about Easyjet employees out of Luton airport. There was one story about an EJ pilot with a plane load of travellers who had to divert to another french airport (forget which one ) due to bad weather. Once the crisis passed, he didn't have enough fuel to continue on, nor the means to pay for any. He almost had to charge it to his personal Credit Card !! I had no idea things like this happened. Another story was about an old, infirm lady with a cane who was so confused that had no idea where she was flying to once at the airport. Italy? Spain? France? they asked. It turned out to be Lourdes. It's a great series; very informative and interesting.

dcespedes,

You're little late, the Airport series ran for couple of years, couple of years ago. I forgot what channel, but it may have been A&E. That's what SjobhanP was asking about when talking about the gentleman that worked for Aeroflot on the Airport show. There was also a great young lady working for the Cyprus Airlines. I believe that show still gets airing somewhere on Sunday nights.

Thanks AAFrequentFlyer--day late and a dollar short, I guess. I was fascinated by what went on behind the scenes at Heathrow--unimaginable events that I had to see to believe!

Airport is on the Discovery Wings channel a lot. A couple weeks ago they ran every single episode over the weekend. Airline is interesting but I prefer Airport.

Thanks tully, well now I know why I haven't seen it here in the States--we don't get DCW in our cable line up though I'm sure for another $100 Time Warner would sell it to us!
