AirFrance! R/T $255 in March
and I'm on it! Got the Travelocity Alert dated today! Non-stop from Philly!
Now... can I teach myself to drive a "stick", be in a foreign country...where I don't speak the language very well AND not hurt myself nor others? Whooo hoooo! |
Good for you! I thought that perhaps I could get such a good deal, too, from Pgh., but that adds about $150 more.
|
Thanks for the heads up SuzieC!
I just booked the cheapest RT I've ever seen from Cincinnati to Paris. 395.00 in the middle of March, 2005. It's not non-stop but I don't care at this price. :-) |
We do have automatics here in Europe too. So no need to drive using a stick.
|
Did you go to the AirFrance website? It's locking up on me. Does Travelocity include these deals...anyone know? |
Indytravel!! You're going back already? You just got home from Europe!
|
What a fantastic fare! It completely floors me that transatlantic airfare is cheaper than European trains! Our fare from Atlanta to London is $380 per person, about $6 less than the train trip from London to Rome. I ALMOST wish we'd rented a car. . .
|
Hi KSWL -
Do you mind me asking where you got the $380 fare out of ATL to LON? The lowest I can find is $450 on NW up to the $500 range for Delta non-stop. We are trying to go from 1/14 to 1/23 (both weekend days) which might be the problem. I'll probably wait for a sale. |
That IS a sale!!! I'm so glad the little school whiners didn't attack you for posting an "advertisement" thanks for the info.
|
I am so glad I live near DC! I think New York may be the only place you can get cheaper airfares to Europe. I am paying 500 bucks to London next month, which isn't super (I remember paying 400 a few years back in October) but it still is not bad, and of course non-stop - another plus for being near DC!
Suzie, you can certainly learn to drive a stick! go test drive cars - tell em you want a stick shift. ;) |
It's good I don't live in NYC. For sure I'd be trying to visit Europe alot. Over here on the west coast the airfares are very expensive-unless there is a sale.
|
Yes it was thru Travelosity... but I guess I should have mentioned that did not include taxes or their $5 service fee so the total is $365 ...
I know there are automatic transmissions..but I'm really going to have to budget coz I want to go to Chateau Country... and then there's all that wine and cheese to sample.. <GRIN> I drove a stickshift years ago.. I imagine I'd get that special rhythm back. As to advertising... I figure WTH... the board shares prices on hotels and restaurants... <GRIN> |
Ah.... Taxes....
Have a great trip! |
For those West coast travelers like myself, Travelocity still has deals. I put in LAX-CDG for mid-March (March 14-28) and came up with a $486 RT fare (on Delta). Not bad, however I am a United Airlines traveler and they usually have specials going on as well. I was in Paris this last March on a $490 RT ticket. Try economytravel.com - I get tickets from them too. LAX-CDG (RT) is only $370, plus tax for those exact same dates (NO service fee!) There are deals out there, you just have to research them...
