Airfare to Spain
Hello everyone. I just wanted to pass along some information. My wife and I will be going to Spain this April. I just booked a flight from Houston to Madrid for $562/tkt. If interested check out www.qixo.com. We have used these folks in the past for a trip to France, no problems on either end. Happy travels.

Turbo, thanks for your post. I am currently trying to book a flight LAX-MAD Spain for mid-June/rt/mid-July. I have been searching Orbitz and CheapSeats and finding no fares under $1000-1100. Qixo was about the same but took a bit longer to work than CheapSeats. Guess I will keep trying to wonder when the time will come to swallow and book?

Hi turbokid,
I think you snagged a very decent airfare. I rechecked my records and I paid a total of $596 for my r.trip in March, PHL-MAD, paying a little extra for an upgradable fare. Do you connect in the US or in Europe? dncee11, I understand your sticker shock about the summer. We had to buy our tickets in early Jan. because our dates were locked in tight, and we needed to use our ff miles on an upgradable fare. So we just bit the bullet, but ouch! We paid $1,022 from the East Coast for our non-stop. I just checked CheapTickets and CheapFares for LAX-MAD, and quotes were the same, btwn $1,000-1,1000. If you were to go through London, connecting down to Madrid on EasyJet (Gatwick or Luton), it might (??) save you money. Good luck in your search! |
Maribel,
We will be flying KLM, and connect in Amsterdam. |
Thanks Maribel, yes, I have seen some fares thru London to Madrid but so far there is no real price advantage there. We will keep looking but I wonder at what point do I book - what is the "drop-dead" date, after which the rates go up further and you really start kicking yourself?

dncee11 - I think Maribel was talking about booking your flight to London (currently about $600 LAX to LHR for your dates -mid June to mid July) and then flying Easyjet from London to Madrid about 35pounds round trip.

We were able to buy non-stop tickets from New York to Madrid and out of Barcelona back to New York for $680 each including tax. We used FlightCentre.com. You ask for a quote by email and they call you back same day with the cheapest cost they could find. Good luck!
