Airfare to Portugal
 

I'm planning a honey moon trip to Portugal for early to mid May 2006. Were leaving out of San Francisco CA, flying to Lisbon.

Right now tickets are showing up online for around $950 - $1100. Is that likely to go down in the next couple of months? Anybody have an idea of what an average fair would be for that time of year?

Slim chance that a sale fare will come along that exactly meets your needs. Greater chance that you will miss it if you blink, if and when it does come along.

Thanks Rex. I did see that post (and one other) on tickets to Portugal.

What I'm wondering is does anyone here has a sense for what that time of year is like for Portugal. Is it a high or low travel period? And I'm hoping people who make the trip often (or made it recently) will chime in with what they paid in the past and what they would find to be a fair price now.

Hi there Dave.

Not sure of prices but that time in Lisbon is not the high tourist season. Weather should be mild, Lisbon being almost on the coast is cooler than inland. What are your plans? Should you be travelling south then expect hotter weather more sun. If you haven't already seen it look at my lisbon thread:

Rex, I will feel honoured should people still be referring to my thread in a year's time. But you are right of course. I just tried copying the link from the left hand side instead of the url box or whatever it is you call it.

The "url box" is the title (message header)... here on the righthand frame. Right click on it and "Copy shortcut" (in Windows)... then "Copy, Paste" (or Ctrl-V).
