Airfare to Paris

Hi,

I am looking for the best airfare deal possible between the United States and Paris. I prefer to fly out of Chicago, but am willing to travel to a different city for a great airfare. So can anyone tell me which airlines fly from the U.S. to Paris?

Thanks

Perhaps you should post this message in the Airlines forum instead of here.

I would think you could get some good deals from Chicago. Do a search on Orbitz, Travelocity, Expedia, etc.

What time of year?

What price range are you seeking?

Some pretty good deals are out there for winter flights. I'm going RT ORD-CDG (changing in Zurich) on Swiss for $318 but I bought a while ago. Today, was helping a friend look for the week of Thanksgiving and found in the $420 range on Air Canada (changing in Canada) on either Travelocity, Expedia, and Orbitz.

Unless you live more than 100 miles from Chicago, I don't think there are likely to be any fares worth traveling (a long distance) to get.

Search "sidestep" or "itasoftware" here on this forum for extensive discussions on various tools available on the internet to examine your options.

It could be worth your while, in some cases to investigate traveling into another gateway airport in Europe (Brussels or London, to name just two); these make sense primarily if you would also beintrested in visiting those respective countries also (at least a little bit).

Best wishes,

Rex

Hi,
You all had some good ideas. I will check orbits, expedia, travelocity, etc.
If anyone knows of any other consolidators please let me know.

My dates are somewhat flexible I could
leave anywhere from March 22nd - 24th, and need to be back home by April 1st.

Thanks,

Just last week there were fare sales on Air France for under $400 ORD-CDG round trip.
We booked in May for the travel next March. I believe it worked out to $393 each.
American Airlines also has non stops Chicago-Paris and usually will match AF fares.
Go for it!

Yahoo is showing $245 from Columbus to CDG (WOW!!) on Air France, American, Lufhansa and one other (I forget). Unbelievable and, more astounding, I plugged in the days I wish to go and got available seats! (I was looking a March 2005).

It MUST be just as good or better from Chicago!

The $245 fare is very likely to be excluding tax, which is about $100. Expect to pay about $350-400 for March travel. If you find such a fare, then you can book it. If not, just wait. You'll get something like that later this year and into next spring.

Just fly from Chicago. AF, AA and UA have non-stops. With a fare so low already, no reason to change planes.

Yep rkkwan is very correct. Fares are typically low that time of year, its a good competitive market, good nonstop options...just hang. $245 from Columbus cannot include taxes and other surcharges...tack those on and yes around $400.

Hi kt,

You might want to check fares at
http://travel.mobissimo.com/travel/search_airfare.php

They search a whole bunch of discount sites.
