Airfare to Ireland in March?
Hi all,
My husband and I are planning a trip in March (20th-27th) and have begun the search for cheap airfare. I found RT from Cincinnati to Dublin for $425. It looks good but I don't know what the typical fare is for March - which I believe is low season? Any help is appreciated. |
I think its good buy it. Prices can get crazy near St Patricks aday and I thgink that is pretty cheap.

That does sound pretty good.

With taxes? If taxes takes it to $550, it's pretty good. If taxes are included, it's very good. Fares from the "Big Ten" states are rarely anywhere close to the ultra-low bargains you can find from more East coast airports. And so far, some of the lowest fares are not good that late in March.
I'd buy it, if it otherwise meets all your criteria (is it nonstop?) - - and be done with it. Best wishes, Rex |
This is what I needed to hear! The husband thinks it's a little early to be booking and thinks it may go lower. All I know is that I paid $375 for RT airfare to Ireland for a trip in October 2001 but that meant a 4 hour drive to Pittsburgh and a layover in Boston. This ticket is from my city with a layover in Chicago. I'm going to go for it.
Thanks again for the verification that this is indeed a good deal. And yes, it is $425 with all taxes included. |
I don't think you'll beat an inclusive R/T fare Cincinnati-Shannon or Dublin of $425 the 20th of March. Aer Lingus' winter sale fares from Chicago (inclusive) are about $300 but that sale ends the beginning of March. Last February we flew Aer Lingus Baltimore-Shannon for $258 (inclusive). Fares have increased sightly for this winter.
If you're firm on your travel dates, my advice would be to jump on that fare. |
Not like you need to hear this after the above posts, but that's a great deal. If your husband complains because it's more than the $375 you paid in October of 2001, remind him that was only a month after 9/11 and airfare to everywhere was super cheap back then. Enjoy, I'm jealous. Is that Delta?
|
Probably NOT Delta, connecting through Chicago - - UAL or AA, one would presume.

Didn't read her follow-up with the ORD info. Gotcha.

Thanks everyone but the trip is now a bust. The husband was denied vacation for this time period due to seniority (or lack thereof) so it's back to the drawing board. I had a feeling that I was jumping the gun a bit but when Ireland calls...we'll get there sometime.
