airfare ... is this a good price?

I have a confirmation for 24 hours for airfare Miami to Rome round trip May28 to June 11 for $395.50 ( taxes included). Is this the best that I will be able to get or does anyone believe it could go lower?
I have to make up my mind tonight. Thanks.

Sounds good to me!

Go for it!

margievill Feb 23rd, 2003 03:43 PM

That's cheaper than the student rate ticket I found. I'd take it.

I don't think you will get a better deal. What airline or web site did you get in on?

thanks.

Doug--I thought I found an excellent price of $611 from Toronto to Venice, round-trip, leaving May 24-June 12. This was after months of research. I think you definitely got a super price.

You better book at as soon as possible. Not sure of the airline, but most clearly state the price is subject to change. They will guarantee you the seats for 24 hours, but not the price. I know a couple that was burned by this. Also they were told that a lot of the Airlines have price changes on Sunday night more than any other night.

The website was Autoeurope.com

_Julie_ Feb 23rd, 2003 10:56 PM

Has anyone had any experience with autoeurope.com?
I was checking out the airfares and they look really good but would like some first hand knowledge before I go ahead and book my ticket!

elle Feb 24th, 2003 02:51 AM

Sounds like an excellent price to me.

I've just booked flights through AutoEurope--Philadelphia to Paris (through Logan) for $452 RT in May. The absolute lowest rate I could find when I needed to book back in January.

Since then, I have found that rates have dipped a bit, but still not as low as AutoEurope's. And they do promise to match a lower price if you find one. So of course, I keep my eyes open for lower prices on this route and dates and will call them to get a credit if and when this happens.
Doug -- I searched their site too and the fares are incredibly low. Do you have to book the flight before they'll reveal the airline and times?

elle Feb 24th, 2003 06:13 AM

Basically you submit a non-binding request, then they send you information on airlines, route, and times. You have 24 hours to accept.
