airfare for march04?

Guys, I need your help!! I am wanting to take my wife to Paris at the beginning of March. I am finding 490.0 per person from Miami to Paris now. Am I likey to see cheaper fares in the coming months? I would like to pay something that sharts with a 3 if possible. We are staying at the Hotel Familia(I was told by the hotel to write back in December)in the Latin Quarter. We are pretty excited, but want to fly cheaply........thanks.

AA has a sale going on till 10/21. I don't know your exact dates but I just ran 4/3-4/10 MIA-CDG and it came back with $380. To get these cheap fares you have to leave Mon-Wed and return Tue-Thur.

Good luck!

i'm from boston so the fares should be almost equal....you maybe a little more...i can now go almost anyplace in europe in the 300 range until march 15 or so...especially after nov 1....i am going on B/A to berlin on nov 19 for $432 all inclusive with a stop in london...i booked this in august before all the new prices came along....
try a search on travelocity.com or orbitz.....ask your travel agent or call air france direct....

Did you check Air France? They have pretty low fares currently, probably ending 10/21 like all other airlines.

I checked departing Miami on Mar. 3rd and returning from CDG on Mar. 10,total fare for 2 adults with taxes included is $783 approximately. Base airfare is $311.

I feel that the most successful way of finding the best airfare is:

1.) Go to http://www.travelocity.com
2.) If your dates are flexible, travelocity will show you the cheapest days to fly on. For example, when accesing their website, just type in "MIA" to "CDG" and click on "Search all dates for best fares." Travelocity will then bring up a calendar with the cheapest days to fly on. If your dates not not flexible, just type in your required dates. Travelocity will then bring up the cheapest airfare for those dates.
3.) Then, after finding the best fare for the selected dates, go to the actual airline website. For example, if travelocity brought up American Airlines, go to http://www.aa.com. The airline website will always bring up a cheaper fare.

I actually just bought my ticket through this process. We are departing from Jacksonville, FL for Paris (Going though Miami). We are leaving March 13 and returning on the 18th. With taxes, the airfare was only $434.00. We considered driving to Miami, but the fare was $445.00 at the time

Try this process and let me know if it worked for you. If I were you, I would book your ticket. According to American's website, aa.com, the sale fare will end October 21 at midnight. Goodluck!

college_travelers, I have used the same process. Usually, I find the airline website (aa, ual) to have the same fare as travelocity. The airline sites don't charge the $5 fee that travelocity charges and they give you some bonus miles. A few times, I've found the airline sites to be higher than travelocity.

One difference I seem to be seeing between the airines sites and travelocity is that the airlines sometimes offer flights with fewer connections. For example, I got the same fare at both travelocity and aa.com, for travel on the same days, but for WAS <-> HNL travelocity only showed me flights with 2 stops (on outbound trip at least) vs 1 stop at aa.com.

Anyway, I've added a step 4: check sidestep.com

If you find a decent fare now for travel to Paris during the first quarter of 2004 BUY IT! The price of fuel is taking a huge hike very soon and those nice fares are not going to lingered around for long. The $480 from Miami-Paris is not bad at all; the $380 is a steal :-))

wow, good news. That is better than I found. Thanks!

dmr1203 Oct 11th, 2003 06:26 PM

well, i found 404.0 per person. think it will go any lower?

francophile03 Oct 12th, 2003 10:54 AM

dmr1203, what are the exact dates you are checking? As mentioned Air France fares look low for Mar. 3-10. But it will differ in fare depending on the dates you need.

If you feel the fare you are quoted is acceptable you should purchase immediately because no one can tell for sure if fares will decrease.
