Air Ticket to Paris Too Much?

My husband and I spoke to a travel agent today about 2 tickets to Paris in June and flying back in July from Rome. The agent told use the best rate she could get for us would be $1,090.00 per ticket. Do you think we can do better? If so, what should we try.

From where? What days & dates? What carrier(s)?

I agree w/ flyboy. Without knowing what city you are flying out of and the day/date, there is no way to tell you what a good fare would be . . . . .

On orbiz 2 days ago there was a flight for 720.00 from Boston. Good Luck!

Need more information, obviously, but in general, it looks quite high.

Try the airline websites themselves,. plus Travelocity, Expedia, Cheaptickets.com, bestfares.com, etc., plus consolidators.

FYI My friend just purchased tickets from San Jose, CA to Rome for this summer for $1400. In January they were $1000. She couldn't use miles to upgrade as no seats available.

DFW to Paris on AA was $950

I'm beginning to think there won't be any great deals out there for high season travel to Europe this summer.

Try air.lowestfare.com. I got an open jaw SFO Munich Paris SFO for $650 per person going in May and returning in July.

I purchased tix on www.airfare.com going from LAX to Paris, then from Rome to LAX for only $665 (w/ Tax) for early Sept on American Airlines where all other sites were quoting $975 and above.
