air tansfer from rome(fco) to naples airport

we will be travelling from rome (fco) airport to sorrento.

we can take the trains: $200 and 7 hours to get there

we can rent a car: $100/day and 5 hours to get there

we can take a limo: $370 in a mercedes and 4 hour to get there

or

fly to naples and transer to sorrento via train, limo, taxi or hydrofoil.

can anyone offer input as to the costs of a flight for 2 from rome to naples and the best method to tranfer to sorrento?

thanks

Hi Tony. We flew to Naples. At the Naples airport, it was easy to take the bus to Sorrento. Ask about it there. It lets you off in the centre of Sorrento. The taxi to the hotel cost the same as the bus!!. On the way back, we couldn't take a bus because our flight left too early. Our hotel arranged for a limo...and they got us a reduced fare. (apparently it is quite negotiable)

Hope this helps. I am sooo jealous. I loved Sorrento and the Amalfi coast.

Re:Trains in USD The train from the airport to Rome (~$7.50), Rome to Naples on the Eurostar (~$30/1st, ~$20/2nd) and the Circumvesuviana Train to Sorrento (~$2). So $40 or $30 per person, are there 5-7 persons in your party?
Tony: no 1st hand info but I recently read a post (here or elsewhere) that the Rome-Naples air route isn't that popular, so it's expensive. Regards, Walter

I just plugged in Rome/Naples R/T and it came up with $240 (per person). Probably an hour flight.

We flew from Naples to Rome last fall on Alitalia. A one way ticket cost us about $104 dollars each and it took around an hour We booked the fare on the Alitalia website. The hydrofoils are pretty cheap and very comfortable. They have a place to put your bags.Have a great time in Sorrento! You will love it! So much to see in the area.
