Air Matress; purchase in Glasgow, or ship?
 

My niece needs an air matress for her small apartment in Glasgow. I was thinking of shipping one to her, but that will probably be expensive. Would it be better to purchase it there, and from where? Thanks.

Why can't your niece shop for one in the normal way? Glasgow is a large city with shops to match.

If she wants it within the next 4/6 weeks, you would have to airmail it which would cost more than the mattress.

You might consider buying one from Argos on-line and having it shipped to her? Argos is very affordable, even with shipping.

She can just pop into Argos today and buy one..there are 10 branches in the Greater Glasgow area

Good suggestions above. There are literally dozens of places where the neice could pick up what she's looking for locally and all the usual .co.uk mattress suppliers will deliver, often for free, without any problems. Here's just one.

Reading the caption, I thought Air matress was some new budget airline I'd never heard of.

Mimar: I did exactly the same thing, picturing a sort of contemporary version of the flying carpet, cheapo airline as an alternative to taking a boat/ship to somewhere like Dunoon. Hey, maybe we can sell this idea?

Some of those mattresses are more seaworthy than the boat to Dunoon.
