Air Malta

Has anyone Ever had their carry-on bags weighed or sized?

No, but we travelled with Air Malta a few years ago and things may have changed. (They did lose our luggage but we got it back eventually). You could check reviews on
http://www.airlinequality.com/
to see if there is any mention of carry on bags.

I alternate flying Air Malta, Ryan Air and sometimes Easyjet from Malta to the UK. My last AM flight waslast Easter and they didn't weigh the bag - they just checked that passengers had one carry on bag only. If you've a small suitcase, or rucksac affair to carry on, then I advise ensuring it fits the size dimensions though I think they'd not check weight. Why not check with AM itself. Overall, I'd say they are less 'strict' that the low costs.

I very often use Air Malta, and they never weighed or sized my hand luggage bags. Of course, I never took huge hand luggages as Air Malta gives a 20 Kilo baggage allowance as check-in.

Ryan Air or Easy Jet probably would offer better prices, I guess you have to be more careful about size and weight with these airlines, and you do have to pay extra for check-in bagages, but the price might still be better. Saying this, we did travel with Ryan Air last December, as Air Malta flights were too expensive during Christmas holidays, and they did not check dimensions or weight of hand luggages we all had. But they sometimes do, so be prepared.

Overall, I would prefer Air Malta over low-cost airlines if they offered same prices as low cost, but unfortunately this is very often not the case.
