Air : London-Prague/Vienna
Am flying into LHR in July on a free ticket but need to get to Prague or Vienna. I have been on the Easyjet website and will be trying BA. Are there any other discount airlines that I should be aware of? Also, time and choice will allow me to add one of Budapest or Berlin to my trip. Any strong opinions on this.
thanks |
Try www.skyeurope.com they require an airport change but if you have time they have good prices

Here's a web site strictly for budget airlines. Perhaps it will help you decide.
http://www.flybudget.com/index2.html We visited Prague, Vienna and Budapest last year and it was one of our best trips. I've never been to Berlin, so can't compare to Budapest, but can tell you that we thought Budapest was great. We stayed on the Buda side in a great hotel (Hotel Victoria) with all rooms overlooking the Danube. Lots of interesting things to keep you busy for at least three or four days. |
allanc,
Skyeurope is not that great for Vienna as they actually fly into Bratislava airport, about 1 hour away by bus. They are a good option if you are flying to/from Budapest though. They do not serve Prague at all. The easiest would be to fly to Vienna from LHR on BMI, which generally have better one way fares than BA. www.bmi.com If you are willing to change airports (would recommend a long layover, preferably with an overnight in that case), here are 2 low-fare options to Prague: - EasyJet from both LGW and STN (as you probably already know) - BmiBaby from LGW (www.bmibaby.com) Finally, given your choices of Vienna and Prague, I would choose Berlin as my 3rd destination. Not that I dislike Budapest (which I actually prefer to Prague in many ways), but Berlin will have a more different, contemporary feel to it. Low fare service is available from Berlin to London: - Air Berlin TXL to STN (www.airberlin.com) - EasyJet SXF to LTN Also, Air Berlin flies from Vienna to Berlin. Here's another site that allows you to find low fare carriers: www.whichbudget.com Hope this helps, Andre |
Another option between Budapest and London besides SkyEurope is Wizz, which flies to LTN, whereas SkyEurope serves STN.
www.wizzair.com Don't know that much about them though - would be more comfortable booking SkyEurope. Hope this helps, Andre |
