air france via delta: problems?
A recent poster wrote that AF did not have his delta reservations. Has anyone else had this issue? Thanks.

hello, kittie!
We faced a similar situation in '04: My husband and I were taking a Delta/AF codeshare flight, and wound up having to call two different numbers for our info (his ticket was Delta, mine was AF). In our case, it was no big problem; we just had to deal with two airlines for one flight. |

What problem was it exactly? Can you provide a link to the original discussion?

In recent years, I have flown Delta code share flights on Air France, Korean Air and Alitalia. I've never had more than a momentary problem, and then it was just a matter of the person at the check-in looking at the right data base (or so I believe.) Sometimes, you need to go to a special counter to check-in. I have had situations where my ticket to Italy was booked through Delta, but my boarding pass and luggage claim check was from Alitalia. On my Korean Air flight, the Korean Air counter didn't originally "see" my booking. But then a Delta rep came over, worked on the computer, and, bingo, there was my reservation. I sometimes think it's a case of the left hand not knowing what the right hand is doing. |
I am flying Delta codeshare to France and returning from Italy. I have found that if you call the codeshare airline directly (rather than relying on Delta), you can confirm and ensure your itinerary and seats. That's a big help.

I believe the OP may be referring to the post I entered last night. We had our first really bad experience on Delta and I've been hearing similar experiences from friends and colleagues who travel for business. They're not what they used to be.
The is the post that hellokittie may be referring to: http://www.fodors.com/forums/threads...p;tid=34806807 I'm still searching for secrets on booking FF flights. I couldn't even get one to Detroit on a weekend in June. Not exactly a hot travel destination! Good luck---hopefully my problems were isolated! |
Yes, it was the problem ILUV described in the link.
