Hi Statia, you're welcome. We're in the same boat as we're leaving after the 7th so I can understand your concerns. I'm trying to be optimistic after hearing what the AF agent told me and from what the others have said here. Hopefully this one day strike will be for the one day only, but we who are travelling after that date need to know our alternatives just in case it carries over until we leave. I mean there is always the first time for everything. Btw, thanks to the others who responded to our concerns.

That's great that there was no strike. However, does that mean that one is still planned soon?

Oh, there's always a strike planned, but it is rarely the one that you expect or have heard about.
At the moment, half of the universities in France are on strike, and the others are closing down one by one (all this for the same reason as the 'official' strike the other day). However, tourists are very unlikely to notice or be inconvenienced by a student strike.

Umm yes there was a one day strike. Didnt have a wide impact though.
