AIr France on strike ... as usual.

We inform you that Air France cabin crew will strike from July 27 to August 2nd.
Flights operated by Air France will be disrupted and the airline already expects cancellations.

We invite you to check your flight status with Air France before heading to the airport.

Please note that Air France flights operated by other partner airlines including HOP!, KLM and Delta will not be disrupted by this movement.

"as usual"......this is the main reason why we stopped flying them......

I am flying Air France into Nice this October.

I am very fortunate my flight is operated by Delta.

Whew!

Tourism has to be down in France because of terrorism.

The AF flight crews will be lucky if they aren't made redundant.

It sure is around here, and much as I love for my fellow merchants to make a good living in summer, I can't say as I am too sorry. We can actually find a parking space when we go to market. Selfish? Yes. Realistic? Yes.

Same on the French Riviera.
On Sunday we drove faster than what GPS indicated - something that never happened.
We have lot of room on the beach.
Up to last week it looked like Easter holiday in terms of affluence.
In Germany though the trains are still full ...

Returned from Provence recently and Asians are out in force but except for cruise passengers trying to cram one week of touring into 8 hours...tourism down for sure. We were booked on air France and will never fly them again...problems in advance with reservations being cancelled for no reason ....seats disappear..strike threats...on and on..combine that with inflight entertainment from the 70s and flight attendants no where to be found...on and on . Wrote up a complaint..actually two and never got a reply. Delta responds to such concerns within 48 hours. Never again!!!

I just flew them a couple weeks ago and managed to hit the sweet spot of no strikes on SNCF or AF during my stay.

I like them (aside from strike worries) and have never had any problems with them. Maybe Lois got some old airplane, don't know, I have never been on an AF flight with a bad entertainment system, but maybe I have lower expectations. It was on-seat personal video screens, tons of movies (and some other stuff I don't usually watch), as well as various music channels. Not sure what else you need. One thing I do really like is their seatback video screens are adjustable (the tilt angle) which can help a lot depending on how much the person in front of you decides to recline. Some other airlines like United don't have that ability. They also have foot rests which I generally like. The flight attendant was really concerned that I didn't want to eat anything (I declined two meals) and kept trying to think of something I might like, it was kind of funny. I just dislike airline food and had just eaten a big lunch before getting on board, anyway, and we were landing at 4 pm so didn't see a reason to eat.

I think yesterday's attack on the priest was horrid. I know now that they will be ramping up security at others and that is one of the things I love about Europe. They lock church doors here and to be able to enter and pray or light a candle and look at the architecture of a cathedral or church is one of my favorite things to do.
Air France needs to get their labor situation sorted. Tourism is important to France.
