Air France (it's Mamaw)
Only the Fodor's God know why I had to go I to cyber H@LL to get back on here. New profile and blah blah blah..
Anyways... I sprung for a business class ticket to Paris this November on Air France. And I'm a little
concerned reading all the horrible reviews.
I would appreciate any feedback from my Friend's here.
Thank you

AF is great in business. Not sure they have lie-flats in all planes, though. I am a curled up side sleeper, so don't need fully flat seat.
Enjoy the food, the gracious, somewhat formal service, and the lounge.
Have a great trip!

Stop reading reviews, What's the point since you've already bought the ticket. I have no idea where you are reading these reviews and what they are saying, but I have flown AF a lot and they are one of my favorite airlines. People like to complain, I'm sure that isn't a random sample and people complain about a lot of things that are their own fault.

If your ticket entitles you to lounge access, by all means arrive at CDG early on your way back. The Air France Lounge was by far the best lounge experience we have ever experienced. The breakfast buffet, with made to order omelets and a huge selection of other things, was to die for.

Oh, Theresa, I just love Air France. However, I do hate CDG Airport!
Flying Business Class? You must be doing well at the restaurant.
Still walking around with a coffee pot, yelling, "Cocktails, cocktails"?

I do not understand why people post things like this about reviews they are reading AFTER they've bought something. Why wouldn't you read the reviews first and ask specific questions about something if you had a concern (something specific someone said in a review that might affect you) before you bought it? That's what I do although I admit I've never read airline reviews to decide what ticket to buy.

Thin. I was pouring cocktail's like mad Mother's day. After Easter and Mother's day I deserve at least business class.
I was actually looking for some comfort here regarding AF. That's why I posted.
janisj..For some reason I can't post on Mamaw. I tried to reset password but no go. It does tell me it's sending g me an e-mail to reset, but I never get one.
No judgement here...I have flown AF 8 year's ago. It was good. However, seatguru and a whole site dedicated to AF bashing had me nervous. Once again I came here for Fodor's people opinion.
I did check reviews beforehand. AF only non stop out of Detroit.
I do plan on getting to CDG AF lounge for a facial.

weird. Maybe you used a different e-mail address back when you set up your profile in 2007?
Or, maybe their e-mail landed in your spam folder??

We flew AF a few years ago and had a great experience. I would have much preferred them over the flight we will be taking next (British Airways) but the ability to use frequent flier miles won out.
Have a great trip!

I took an AF flight from San Francisco to CDG last summer - it was the new 787 dreamliner aircraft. The layout of the plane makes it comfortable despite 500 passengers. There was excellent bin space (on the first level) without the stress of competing for it. And the service was very good too. No complaints.

We had very good experiences on AF, most recently in December. The morning of our flight AF texted that our LAX departure would be late and I was concerned as we had a connection to Mulhouse and not much time to make it. I called AF and the gentleman booked us on the 2nd connecting flight that day as well as the 1st. As it turned out they made up time in the air and we made our original connection.
The previous year, flying premium economy, we had seats opposite of the flight attendants' seats for take off and landing. We chatted with them and talked about favorite places to visit in LA. Shortly after takeoff one attendant served champagne to business class then bought us each a glass. It was a nice surprise.

My elderly mother was downgraded from business to economy on a flight from Paris to South America, a few years ago. There was an Air France employee apparently who needed her seat - the flight attendant was apologetic and encouraged her to complain, which she did.
She was in her mid 70s at the time, flying on her own to visit her grandchild and had booked her business seat well in advance. We were not amused at her treatment and have not flown AF since.

I stopped flying Air France after they cancelled the second leg of my flight from the US to Italy via Paris because there were too few passengers. Only offer was to fly me to a different city in Italy and then provide a bus ticket to the city where I needed to go. Wouldn't pay for train fare, and I had paid business class prices for the air ticket.

I love Air France, especially the Air Bus 380s. Smoothest ride ever in an airplane. And great service. 3 years ago when I was traveling on crutches, they couldn't have provided better service. Love them.
