Here are a bunch of comments you can read. Free wine in coach--unlike the U.S. airlines. The food in coach is quite good--unlike American Airlines. Check out www.seatguru.com for configuration on the plane you are flying. They fly several different models.

Flew Air France last November. I didn't find it especially any better or worse than any other airline. I was in coach so the 11 hours from SFO to Paris is not particularly pleasant but as long as I get there and back, it works.

Food was OK, I don't care about the alcohol so free drinks doesn't mean anything to me, but yes the drinks are free. I have flown British Air twice, and don't find them any better or worse, free drinks also as I recall.

I also flew United, and at that time the drinks were free, don't know about now. I didn't notice anything "special" about any of them. For me, it's a means to an excellent end.

Drinks (alcohol) are not free on United when crossing the Atlantic Ocean anymore.

Just my own experience, but I find the personnel, beginning at check-in and including the crew, to be much more pleasant than on domestic carriers.
