air fare to Europe, low season

Flying round trip NYC - Paris - NYC in the Fall, we wonder if there is a low season with lower air fares, say after the first Monday in September.

Ed, not sure how much later in Sep you're willing to go, but Air France is having an early-bird special right now for flights to Europe after Oct 29. Lots of RT options for under $500 or lower.

When I was looking at flights for a Fall trip to Germany, the cutoff with American Airlines was October 10. We didn't want to fly on the 11th so we opted to leave on the 12th. As I remember, there was a big difference in price.

Hi ed,

Usually airfares go down after Labor Day.

Go to www.itasoftware.com where you can do a month-long search.

Lately it seems airfares have not been that much lower until you get into October.
