Air Climate Control-Radisson Copenhagen
 

I emailed the SAS Radisson Royal in Copenhagen asking if they have air-conditioning in their rooms. This is what I got for a response: "Our rooms do not have aircondition. We offer air climate control. Climate Control is a thermostat which is either lowered in heat. It does not set to cold." I was under the impression, after reading the posts here and at tripadvisors, that the Radisson has airconditioning. Am I misunderstanding the email??

Yes, you're misunderstanding.

They don;t have AC. What they do have is heat that you can turn off.

Except for rare heat waves AC would be unnecessary in Copenhagen.

The Marriott..not all that far away from the Radisson does have powerful A/C, however.

why do they even have AC? May get rusty from years of non-use?

Thanks. I might try the Marriott or even the First Hotel Vesterbro. I have already experienced twice staying in hotels in a city without air-conditioning during a heat wave as well as when temperature rose to about 35C. Both gave unpleasant feelings and very suffocating.I don't want to take my chance.

there is a reason however the SAS Radisson Royal, a rather tony hotel, does not have air conditioning - there's about as much a chance of having a snowball in Hell as needing AC in Copehagen - especially after most of the summer is past.

Joy, I'm not sure from your post when you will be in Copenhagen. I was there in late May of this year and it was extremely warm. Our hotel did not have air-conditioning and the room was very hot. We had to keep the windows open and there was a lot of noise from the street outside. (We were near the Central Train Station). We did not think we would need AC in Copenhagen in May. From my experience, I would defintitely want an air-conditioned hotel from late May through August. I think it was a hot spring in parts of Europe this year. We were in Paris in mid-April and were very glad we were in an air-conditioned hotel as it was unseasonably warm. Of course, it is always hard to predict when a heat wave will hit, but I like my AC as I do not do too well in the heat!
